Located high up in the remote town of Upington in South Africa’s arid Northern Cape, near the banks of the Orange River is the Upington Golf Course.
The course is a true Kalahari course and the well knitted green kikuyu fairways contrast wonderfully with the deep orange surfaces upon which they lay. The course plays to a modest length of 6032m (5183m for ladies) and is rated 71.
The course itself is flat and fairly straightforward, though the wind factor adds a good challenge. Accuracy is key here and you’ll want to avoid the dusty roughs even though they are more lenient than most.
Members are friendly and due the remote location are always happy to welcome a visitor in.
Facilities include a pro shop, clubhouse, club hire and cart hire.
